Celebrating Nepali New Year at Joy’s Home, Kalimpong.
On the eve of the Nepali New Year, Hiranya’s Wear One, Clothe One campaign was launched at Joy’s Home. Team Hiranya was delighted to organise lunch for the inmates of the old age home, run by Kalimpong based NGO, Who Cares. The occasion was partnered by Red Cross Society, Kalimpong and other civil society stakeholders in the august presence of the Honourable Member of Legislative Assembly, Kalimpong. Team Hiranya distributed traditional Nepali dresses for the grandmothers and grandfathers which were tailored from handloom cloth sourced from Fulia, West Bengal. The joy that was so palpable, their smile lit faces became immeasurable when the eldest inmate, Michael Pradhan, 90, cut a cake to celebrate the occasion.

Celebrating Easter at Grace Home, Kalimpong
Team Hiranya were delighted to spend some great time on the occasion of Easter Sunday, 17th April 2022, with the kids of Grace Children's Home, Kalimpong. Some of the kids at the home have been abandoned and left homeless since infants. In the presence of Hon'ble Member of Parliament, Smt Shanta Chhetri, all the 17 kids were gifted clothes. As per the kids choice, they were treated to a fun meal of pizza, chicken, sweets, pastries and beverages. The joy and revelry was infectious as the youngest kid cut a celebratory cake and put up cultural programs on the occasion..
Bath, haircut and food and cloth distribution drive in Kalimpong on the 30th of April 2022
On behalf of Hiranya, volunteers of our partner WHO CARES brought homeless people at Trikon park in Kalimpong. In addition to giving them bath and haircut, the team provided them food and clothes. Some of the persons had immediate health issues like corns and calluses which were addressed by the team during the drive.
Celebrating Eid with underprivileged Muslim households
On the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr, Team Hiranya distributed clothes to 18 kids from underprivileged female-headed households. In addition to that our team gifted EID Kits to 10 households which comprised of rice, chicken, oil, vegetables, spices, sevai, milk, sugar, dry-fruits etc.
