Hiranya works with 28 skilled weavers from Fulia, Burdwan, Benaras and Chanderi to bring you high-quality handloom sarees, scarves, anti-fits and wraps made out of pure Linen, Khadi, Zari and Silks.
Handloom is one of the biggest sources of income in the areas where our weavers are located. The art of hand-weaving is passed on from one generation to another in families and it is primarily a household activity. Our weavers use traditional techniques of dying and weaving that involves less water and electricity, making the textile more eco-friendly, sustainable and safe. When we visited our weavers for the first time and spent days understanding their art, we discovered India’s finest weaving styles, like Jamdani and. We observed how magical it was to see how yarn are spun, dyed and transformed into exquisite fabrics.

Using traditional techniques, it takes more than a month for our weavers to design and weave a handloom saree. No two pieces are the same and it is the imperfection of hand-weaving that makes the textile all the more unique. This is the reason why handloom fabrics like mulberry silk, muslin, chanderi, linen and hand-spun cotton are precious and expensive.
We at Hiranya are committed to promote handloom and be a part of the larger community that is working tirelessly so as to ensure that the art of handloom sustains in future.
